my favorite before/after campfire song.. CCR's lookin out my backdoor.. we'd always sing it on the way there... and back...
Just got home from illinois, lock the front door, oh boy! Got to sit down, take a rest on the porch. Imagination sets in, pretty soon I?m singin?,
Chorus: Doo, doo, doo, lookin? out my back door.
There?s a giant doing cartwheels, a statue wearin? high heels. Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn. A dinosaur victrola list?ning to buck owens.
Chorus
Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band. Won?t you take a ride on the flyin? spoon? Doo, doo doo. Wond?rous apparition provided by magician.
Chorus
Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band. Won?t you take a ride on the flyin? spoon? Doo, doo doo. Bother me tomorrow, today, I?ll buy no sorrows.
Chorus
Forward troubles illinois, lock the front door, oh boy! Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn. Bother me tomorrow, today, I?ll buy no sorrows.
Chorus

From her nose! And the *snot sucking sound* is a drippin from her nose! Pretty gross huh?!?? But I LOVE IT!

I love the darling you can't love one song, it's one of my faves, our versions a little different but still a great song I'll post the lyrics to another one of my faves. The Frat Pin Song: He wore that college frat pin right next to his heart, And from that college frat pin he swore he'd never part, Through 4 long years of college he wore it faithfully, He wore that college frat pin from his fraternity. Oh, long came little Bernie Girl twinkle in her eye, Stole that college frat pin from that great big brawny guy, And now they live in a bungalow with welcome on the mat, And pin the baby's diaper in honor of the frat. Oh, baby 6 ft 3 now brawny like his dad, He joined the same fraternity it must have been a fad, He hasn't got a girl yet but just you wait and see, Some Bernie Girl will steal that pin from his fraternity. Ohh!! I love this song, it's so fun because we have actions that go along with it

On the Loose to climb a mountain On the Loose where I am free On the Loose to live my life the way I think my life should be For I only have a moment and a whole world left to see I'll be searchin' for tomorrow on the loose...

fast-
'every morning at a half past eight I go 'naaah' to Georgie And every morning at a half past eight He goes 'naaah' to me No need to knock No need to ring For as I rub my eyes I open the window, pop out my head and go 'naaah' to Georgie
Then one morning at a half past eight I went 'naaah' to Georgie Opened the window, Popped out my head Down came the window, off rolled my head And 'naaah' went Georgie'-Georgie!!!
Slow- 'I've been sittin here thinkin bout leavin When I wanted to stay the most So I went outside and left a piece of my heart Buried by the Third fence post
So when tommorow morning comes Ill be smiling, though I might be a little down Although my body's leaving, I'll still be around'-Third Fence Post...i love the whole song, but especially the first verse
I also find myself humming 'On The Loose' quite frequently during the year..

I've got to add another couple of songs that are in my head right now Pals: Pals dear old pals,we'll always be, shraing together friendships will never ever sever, faithful and true i'll be to you and we will always be just pals dear old pals. Leaving on a Jetplane: All my bags are packed I'm ready to go, here I stand outside your door, I hate to wake you up to say goodbye, but the dawn is breaking it's early morn the taxis waiting he's blowing his horn, already I'm so lonesome I could die, So kiss me and smile for me, tell me that you'll wait for me, hold me like you'll never let me go, cause I'm leaving on a jetplane, don't know when I'll be back again, Oh, babe I hate to go........... These are just some songs we sing on the last night of each session that are really making me think about camp right now. I am so ready to be back there.

Ohh this is my favorite part of camp.. singing songs! I couldn't pick just one fav., so I have one fast song and one slow song:
"Pink Pajamas" I wear my pink pajamas in the summer when it?s hot I wear my flannel nightie in the winter when it?s not and sometimes in the spring and sometimes in the fall I jump between the sheets with nothing on at all
Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, what's it to ya? Balmy breezes blowin' through ya With nothing on at all!
Barges Out of my window, looking in the night I can see the barges flickering light Silently flows the river to the sea And the barges too go silently
Chorus: Barges, I would like to go with you I would like to sail the ocean blue Barges, have you treasures in your hold Do you fight with pirates brave and bold?
Out of my window, looking in the night I can see the barges flickering light Starboard shines green and port is glowing red I can see them flickering far ahead Chorus

My favorite Camp song of 2004 is....
BLACK SOCKS!
Black socks They never get dirty, The more that you wear them The blacker they get. Some day I'll probably launder them, But something keeps telling me Don't do it yet NOT YET.... NOT YET!
It's fun when we do it in a round

Girl Scout For Life, that was the closest version to how my camp sings Black Socks that I have ever heard! Most people I have heard sing it completely different. We sing: Black socks they never get dirty The longer you wear them the blacker they get Someday I think I might launder them Something keeps telling me don't do it yet not yet, not yet, not yet, not yet (x's 893798798) We do it as a round to. Thats definitely not my favorite camp song though. I'm still thinking.

Mine is Put Friends First...
Put friends first, to make friends last On this you can depend Through thin or thick, You'll be my pick you'll always be my friend.
(motions- slap your thighs during this verse) Slap your knees, smile say cheese On this you can depend Through thin or thick you'll be my pick you'll always be my friend
(clap your hands during this verse) Clap your hands, cause I understand On this you can depend Through thin or thick, you'll be my pick, you'll always be my friend.
(snap your fingers during this verse) Make 'em snap through any mishap On this you can depend Through thin or thick, you'll be my pick, you'll always be my friend.
(wave your hands back and forth) Just say hi, don't be shy On this you can depend Through thin or thick, you'll be my pick, you'll always be my friend.
repeat first verse, combining all the motions... slap, clap, snap, wave, and repeat

My favorite quiet time campfire song: I see the moon and the moon sees me, The moon sees somebody I'd like to see. So God bless the moon and God bless me, And God bless the somebody I'd like to see.
Now run along home and jump into bed, Say your prayers and cover your head. The very same thing I say unto you, You dream of me, I'll have sweet dreams of you.
That has always been one of my favorite songs, but we haven't sung it in two or three years, at least.
I'll have to post later when I can think of my favorite fast song.

I think my favorite camp song would have to be There's a Hole in my Bucket. However, that song is waayyy too long to post the entire thing. So you'll get the first two verses.
Theres a hole in my bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza. There's a hole in my bucket, dear Liza, a hole! So fix it, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry. So fix it dear Henry, dear Henry, fix it! And so on. But it's an awesome song.
